Costco Drag Queens and Mormon Steelers

Chrissa was fortunate enough to meet two people of ironic extremes. One, a Cranberry PA Drag Queen, and two, an LDS Pittsburgh Steeler. All in one week. What are the odds of that?

First, the Drag Queen. She didn't actually meet him/her, but nearly ran into him/her at Costco. I'll try to avoid the obvious question in this scenario (i.e., what in the world is a drag queen doing in Costco?). But, as she and Michelle were waiting in line to check-out, she saw this he/she standing in the next line. There he/she was, in a dress and heels, but with obvious masculinity. Michelle noticed as well, and whispered to Chrissa to stop staring. It took a few minutes for Michelle to explain to Chrissa what he/she was... a man who likes to dress like a woman, for whatever reason. Explaining what he/she was is much different than trying to explain why he/she was, so we left that one unanswered.

Next, the LDS Pittsburgh Steeler. Coming from Idaho, we didn't get much exposure to professional athletes. I remember meeting Shawn Bradley once, but that doesn't count. In fact, unless you are lucky enough to meet a celebrity in Sun Valley or Jackson Hole, you don't get much of a chance to meet anyone of any form of importance. But, today she was able to attend a BYC (Bishop's Youth Council) at our Bishop's house, where Chris Hoke gave a devotional. He plays nose tackle, #76. Big dude. She said it was a great meeting. No, we didn't get photos... just didn't seem right to end the session with a prayer and an autograph/photo shoot.
